Delta 8 half-life
The biological half-lives of delta 8 are for the slower phases ranging from 32 minutes to 12 and 6 minutes for delta 8-THC, 11OH-delta 8-THC and 11-oxo-delta 8THC. 11-OH- and 11oxo-delta 8THC were eliminated more quickly from the brain than delta 8-THC. The highest levels of 11-OHand 11-oxo 8-THC in the brain were, however, greater (10.64 and 4.25 micrograms/g respectively) than delta 8THC (3.48 micrograms per gram) at 0.5 minutes after the IV treatment (10 mg/kg). These Results show that 11-OH- and 11oxo-delta 8-THC can be distributed more rapidly from the brain to blood in rodents than delta 8-THC. This could explain the more potent pharmacological activities of these metabolites previously reported.
